Illustration Friday :Spotted?

You and I in a little toy shop
buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got
Set them free at the break of dawn
'Til one by one, they were gone
Back at base, bugs in the software
Flash the message, "Something's out there"
Floating in the summer sky
99 red balloons go by.

99 dreams I have had
In every one a red balloon
It's all over and I'm standin' pretty
In this dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenier
Just to prove the world was here...
And here is a red balloon
I think of you and let it go

click on drawing to count the balloons
The words are from a song by Blondie

The sun is hiding behind the building today
The eagles are a constant still
Its good friday
The blue is taking over the pink
and the yellow is sinking into the horizon
The palm tree is bobbing gently.
The tall building holds the reins
to the lives of the people in all the other buildings.
A million tiny lives held by a few
now thats nothing new.
Crows sea saw on the branches
The Yew tree stands alone, untouched.
How i wish the sky was spotted
with 99 red balloons

Awww... by the time this song came out, I was a teenager; although I loved it I couldn't understand a word because my english was even worst than now.
It is very nice of u to show its lyrics and illustrate it.
Thanks for that ;)

This has cheered me up a lot.

Great song and great idea. I'm going to trust you that there are 99 balloons there. I'm too impatient to count them. :-)

It feels like something unattainable, so you just have to look up and enjoy. Lovely
